Kern Surgery Center, LLC was established in March, 2016. It is a fully accredited Ambulatory Surgery Center in the heart of Downtown Bakersfield, conveniently located behind Dignity Hospital on Truxtun Avenue.
Kern Surgery Center is owned and operated by Dr. John L. Brazill, MD and Dr. Jan M. Eckermann, MD.
Dr. John Brazill is a Fellowship Trained Pain Management Specialist and Board Certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology in Pain Medicine and Anesthesiology. His medical practice specializes in treating all forms of chronic pain including sciatica, neck pain and low back pain, using the most advanced pain management techniques.
Jan M. Eckermann, MD, FAANS is a board certified neurosurgeon experienced in managing complex neurosurgical patients. Dr. Eckermann has performed many neurosurgical procedures treating varying disease of the brain and spine. A focus of his practice is the surgical management of chronic low back and leg pain. Dr. Eckermann is a national expert in neuromodulation and regularly teaches seminars and hands-on courses on the subject of spinal cord stimulation. He continues to push for innovations that make procedures more efficient and safer; he holds over 20+ patents for neurosurgical devices.
